GEORGE U. LAKE, JR. DATE: SEPTEMBER 4, 2001 -- SCRANTON, PA. SOURCE: THE SCRANTON TIMES George U. Lake Jr., 66, 408 Adams Ave., Scranton, died unexpectedly Saturday at home. Born in Throop, son of the late George U. and Winifred Morris Lake, he attended West Scranton High School and served in the Army in Germany. He was a retired employee of the Scranton Lace Corp., and before that worked for Westinghouse Corp., New Jersey. Surviving are two sons, George U. III, New Jersey, and Lawrence, Scranton; a daughter, Darla Tyrone, New Jersey; two sisters, Carol Williams and Kathryne Lake, both of Scranton; a brother, Joseph Androski, Scranton; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Cremation was held at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
