Press & Sun-Bulletin; Binghamton NY; 2004-4-10 Gerald Arthur Lake of Susquehanna, Pa. Gerald Arthur Lake, 69, of Prospect St., Susquehanna, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2004, at the Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pa., after an illness. He was born in Susquehanna, the son of the late William and Gladys (Bedford) Lake. He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy A. Holmes, Marguerite Lee, and Madelyn Vallelong; and brother, Francis Lake. Gerry is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Janice E. Lake; one sister, Loretta Hunt; and several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Casey. He was owner and operator of Lakey's Inc. of Susquehanna for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion Post #86 and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #794 of Susquehanna. He was an avid pool shooter and bowler and will be missed by his family and many friends. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 14th, at 11 a.m. at the Hennessey's Funeral Home, 208 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, with Rev. Kenneth Bitler officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
