Gerald M. Lake, 84, formerly of Ithaca, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998 at
The Laurels of Fulton Nursing Home.

He was born in Newark Township on Sept. 8, 1914, the son of George L. and
Nellie M.  (Brown) Lake. He married Zora Carpenter on Nov. 27, 1978.
She preceded him in death on July 30, 1995.

Gerald and his first wife, Lucille, farmed locally for much of his life,
and raised three sons who survive, David Lake of Traverse City, Gary
(Karen) Lake of the Dominican Republic and Richard (Jerrita) Lake of
Galax, VA.

He is also survived by one brother, LeRoy (Paula) Lake;step-children,
Janice (Joe) Marcilinia of Ontatio, Cannda, Douglas Carpenter of Sarasota,
Fla., David (Linda) Carpenter of Peck, Idaho, Greg (Lucy) Carpenter of
Palmer, Alaska, and Vada (Victor) Keyes of Stanton;11 step grandchildren;
and 15 step great-grandcildren.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 1, at the Barden Funeral
Home in Ithaca, with the Rev. Robert Shellhouse officiating.  Burial will
be in the North Star Cememtery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.  Memorial Contributions may be
made to the physical therapy department of the Laurels of Fulton.
