The Advocate; Newark OH; 2013-10-26 HEATH: A Funeral Mass for Geraldine "Jeri" Mahan, 86, of Heath, will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 29, 2013, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. Jeri died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Friday, October 25, 2013. She was born in Newark, Ohio on May 17, 1927 to the late Raymond and Ruth (Mason) Lake. Jeri was retired from Newark Catholic High School where she worked as the cafeteria supervisor for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and a member of their Ministry of Comfort. Jeri enjoyed camping and the fellowship at 1st EUB. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph E. and Jane Mahan, Joyce M. Brown and her fiance; Rodney Reed, John W. and Connie Gatrell and Mary Louise and James Edwards; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine Barber, Janice and Bill Horkey and Mary and Roger Lucas; longtime friends, Buck and Mary Jane Crawmer and Helen Norris; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jeri was preceded in death by her husband whom she married on June 3, 1946, John H. Mahan; her son, Harold E. Gatrell; and her brothers, Don, Virgil, and Herman.
