Lake, age 88, formerly of Hamilton who resided with her daughter at 683 Danbury Road, Cincinnati passed away in Mercy Hospital of Fairfield Tuesday June 4, 1996 at 1:10 a.m. She was born in Hamilton the daughter of Charles and Mary (Renners) Arno. Gertrude was a graduate of the Notre Dame Academy; a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church and was employed as office manager for Purdy's Extermital Service for 25 years, retiring in 1970. In 1927, in Hamilton, she was married to Vernon E. Lake and he preceded her in death in 1986. She is survived by four daughters, Eloise and her husband, George Tenbusch of Indian Springs, Joan and her husband, James Hall of Kettering, Ohio, Sandra and her husband, Carl Beer of Loveland, Ohio and Margot Howard of Cincinnati; one brother, Charles Arno of Hamilton; three sisters, Rita Fuchs and Mary Arno both of Hamilton and Sr. Marie Teresa of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor of Hartwell; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Joseph Arno and two sisters, Clara Finan and Margaret Murray. Prayers will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of the Christian Burial in St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church.
