GRETCHEN Z. LAKE Gretchen Z. Lake, 84, of Overland Park, KS, passed away
March 28, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Manor, Merriam, KS. Graveside services
will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd.,
Kansas City, MO. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association for Research. Mrs.
Lake was born September 28, 1916, in Alliance, NE. She was a woman whose
life was filled with music and her love of people. A most devoted wife,
mother, and friend, she will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by
her loving husband, John P. Lake, and is survived by her son, William Lake
of Omaha, NE; her two daughters, Nancy Lake Whedon and Penny L. Barthol,
both of Overland Park, KS; her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Griffith of Kansas
City, MO; five grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. (Arrangements:
