Midwest City Sun; Midwest City OK; 2001-4-12 Lt. Col. (Ret.) Harman Willard Funeral services for Lt. Col. (Ret.) Harman Willard, 95, Midwest City, were held April 10, at the Paylor Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Arlington Memory Gardens. He passed away April 5. Col. Harman was born September 8, 1905 in Kewanee, Ill. to Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Lowe) Kimmell. He grew to manhood in Kewanee. He spent over thirty years in the service of his country, and retired as a Lt. Colonel of the United States Air Force on the 30th of November, 1955. He was an expert with wood and made violins, mandolins, some furniture, and all manner of things. He was a perfectionist in everything he did. He was a good musician having studied violin at the Conservatory of Music in Chicago. In later years he brought several electronic organs, as he always wanted the latest on the market. He played beautiful songs and spent part of each day at the organ. Harman was a good family man and he was loved by all, especially by the great-grandchildren. He was always slipping them a few dollars when their granny did not know. Harman was married twice, his first wife was Rena Lakin, and his second wife was Laverne (Daniel) Kimmell.
