HARRIET J. CONKLIN LAKE Newburgh, N.Y. Harriet J. Conklin Lake, a homemaker, and lifelong resident of the area, died Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center, Highland. She was 68. The daughter of James and Myrtle Youmans Conley, she was born May 8, 1935 in Monroe. Survivors include three sons, Albert Conklin Jr. of Walden, Marshall Conklin Sr. of Walden, and Michael Conklin Sr. and his wife, Shalda, of Walden; three daughters, Karen Galietta and her husband, John, of Walden, Marcia Parks and her husband, Ronald, of Campbell Hall, and Ellen Smith and her husband, Joseph, of Campbell Hall; one sister, Charlotte Benson of Yates City, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Lake; a son, James Conklin; a brother, Robert Conley; a sister, Mary Weller; and daughter-in-law, Rose Conklin. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. Arrangements were made by the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc., 39 Orchard St., Walden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
