Frederick News-Post Frederick MD December 31, 2010 Mr. Harry Lee Lake, 91, of Frederick, passed away Dec. 29, 2010. Born Jan. 19, 1919, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late William C. and Arttie M. Lake. He was a lifelong Baptist, attended Frederick County Public Schools and was a heavy equipment operator in the construction trade. He also was an avid Redskins and Orioles fan, and he loved fishing. Surviving are two sisters, Betty Harroun and husband Charles of Michigan and Lena Duvall of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Mildred Beall; four brothers, Roy C. Lake, Charles Lake Sr., Eugene Lake and Henry L. Lake Sr; two sisters, Virginia Adams and Mary Askins; nephews Kenneth Gerber and Harry "Sonny" Blank; and a niece, Candy K. Lake. He will especially be missed by three nieces, Peggy Wolfe, Betty Lake and Mary Lake. Visitation will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Chapel Mausoleum of Frederick Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. 15 N., Frederick, where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday. Interment will follow in Veterans Garden of Honor at Resthaven. Pastor Jonathan Purks will officiate. Pallbearers will be Henry Lake II, Richard Lake, Roy Lake Jr., Jeff Lake, Ronnie Wilt and Bradley Green. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Frederick County Humane Society, 217W. Patrick St., Frederick, MD 21701. Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Services, Skkot Cody, P.A., Frederick.
