The Daily Journal, Vineland NJ Friday, March 30, 2012 HARRY ROBBINS, 92 Machinist at Dorchester Ship Yard Harry Robbins, 92, of Port Norris, the last surviving child of Norman and Rachel McDaniels Robbins, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, March 29, 2012. He was a member of Port Norris Baptist Church. He graduated from Port Norris High School in 1938. He received his machinist certificate from Ferrecute Machine Co. in 1945; he worked at Dorchester Ship Yard and Armstrong Cork (Kerr Glass) until his retirement in 1982. He was well known as "Chap" and loved gardening, and specialized in raising pole beans. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Dobrowsky Robbins; two daughters, Nancy (George) Garrison of Mauricetown, and Harriet (George) McConnell of Port Norris; grandchildren, Amy Garrison of Charlotte, N.C., Tim (Erin) Garrison of Vineland, Kelly Finch of Port Norris, and Dr. George (Chris) McConnell of Cary, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Stella McConnell. There will be no public viewing. A graveside service will be held at Haleyville Cemetery on Saturday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Port Norris Baptist Church, P.O. Box 225, Port Norris, NJ 08349. Arrangements are being handled by Hoffman Funeral Homes Port Norris.
