Obit of Hattie Hegwood - Winston-Salem Journal - June 18, 2001

Mrs. Hattie Lakey Hegwood, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday, June 16, 2001,
at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Hegwood was born in Yadkin County Sept. 21,
1914, the daughter of the late John W. and Minnie Mathis Lakey. She lived
most of her life in Forsyth County, retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.
after 47 years of service, and was oof the Baptist faith. She was preceded
in death by three sons, Don, Carl Ray, and Bicket Hegwood. Surviving are her
children, Sylvia Flippin and husband Mike, Jackie Chrysikos and husband
Time, and Bill Hegwood, all of Winston-Salem; a daughter-in-law, Hassell
Hegwood of Winston-Salem; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tuesday,
June 19 at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel conducted by the Rev. Skip
Furrow. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. The family will receives
friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Vogler's Reynolda Road Chapel.
