Published in Journal-News on June 11, 2014 Hamilton, OH HOOKER, Hazel L. Age 83, of Springville, PA died Sunday morning June 8th at her residence. She is survived by her husband of 65 years George E. Hooker Sr. She was born in a log cabin in Black Burn "Estill County" KY on December 30, 1930 daughter of the late Homer and Martha Crowe Lakes. Hazel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, making crafts, quilts, dolls, watching the birds, listening to Johnny Cash and most of all traveling to Europe and all over the United States with her husband. She was preceded in death by her son George E. Jr., and brother Ellis Lakes. She is survived by sons Homer and companion Beth, of Auburn Twp., PA, Richard, of Frostproof, FL, daughters Rosana and husband Bill Stang, of Springville, PA, Anita and Matt Kupchunas, of East Lemon, PA, brothers Bob Lakes, of Fairfield, Henry Lakes, of Springboro, and sisters Frieda Holt, of London, KY, Shirley Brehm, of Fairfield, grandchildren Will Stang, Lanell Stang Brennan, Matthew Kupchunas, Kelli Mackey, and great-grandson Gabe Brennan. Graveside Service will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Millville Cemetery, 2289 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013.
