Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2001, she had just
recently celebrated her 105th birthday, August 21, 2001. Hazel, whose most
recent address in Kalamazoo was Dillon Hall at Nazareth, was born in
Lexington, KY on August 21, 1886, the daughter of John and Susan (Evans)
Dennistion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lake, who
passed June 10, 1971; and one son, Warren (Pick) Lake, September 26, 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Abbott of Portland, IN; two sons, John Lake
of Hernado, FL, and Robert Lake of Portland, IN; 11 Grandchildren; 17
Great-grandchildren; and six Great-great-grandchildren. Services were held
Saturday, September 30, 2001, at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland,
IN, Pastor Joe Merrill officiated. Burial was at the Little Salamonia
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
