LAKE Hazel Pearl Lake - 89, formerly of Kentville, passed away Friday, October 15, 2004 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in New Ross, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Emerson and Winnifred (Meister) Redden. She had been employed as a receptionist with the former CKEN radio station for a number of years. She was a member of the Kentville United Baptist Church, where she was a past president of the Dorcas Society. She was a Past Noble Grand of St. Eulalie Rebekah Lodge, No. 27 and a past president of the Kings County Commercial Travellers Association Travellettes, Kentville. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by a son, Leon (Beverly), New Minas; five sisters, Mary Schurman, Windsor; Virginia Bilgen, New Minas; Rose (Raymond "Pat") Doyle, South Alton, Kings County; Birdie Moores, Halifax; Helen (James "Jim") Addie, Comox, British Columbia; five brothers, Chesley (Helena) Redden, Robert (Gloria) Redden, Hughie (Carol) Redden, all of South Alton; Harold (Clara) Redden, Cambridge; Emery Redden, Kentville; three grandchildren, Sherri (Mark) O'Toole, Calgary, Alberta; Troy and Korey Lake, both of Kentville; five great grandchildren, Matthew, Madeline, Tori, Chloe and Maddison; former daughter-in-law, Geraldine Cooper, Prince Edward Island; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert; a son, William, in infancy; two sisters, Rita Bowman and Gladys Hunt; two brothers, Basil and Clyde. Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2004 with a Rebekah service held at 7:00 p.m. in the W C. Hiltz / White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a funeral service took place at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2004, Reverend John McNally officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to St. Eulalie Rebekah Lodge or the charity of your choice.
