Helen Arnold, of Mesa, Arizona, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ
on Thursday, May 23, 2002-just six days before her 95th birthday! Helen
was born in Gaza, Iowa on May 29, 1907. She was one of seven children of
Jerome and Mary Jane Lake. Helen and her husband, Glenn "Speed" Arnold
moved to Chillicothe, Illinois in 1933 and resided there until 1981. Both
were active in the community and were founders of Chillicothe Bible
Church. He len is survived by her sister, Ruth Johnson of Albuquerque,
New Mexico, her daughter, Glenna (Arnold) Salsbury, three sons, Jim, Toby,
and Greg, plus 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Her family was
blessed day after day by her faith, her steady spirit, her dry sense of
humor, and her courageous, indomitable spirit. The angel escorted Helen
to heaven while she rested peacefully surrounded by family and friends
who held her hands and sang hymns together. A private memorial service
will be held in Helen's honor during the month of June in Scottsdale,
