Helen E. Sundberg died July 3, 2001, at age 87.

Mrs. Sundberg was born Helen E. Lake on March 9, 1914, in Converse, Ind.
She graduated from Manchester College and was a elementary teacher in
Indiana for 10 years.  Besides serving as a Christian education director
at High Street Methodist Church in Muncie, Ind., she went on several
missionary assignments with her first husband.  She moved to Portland
in 1991.  In 1937, she married Harold Neel; he died in 1988.  In 1991,
she married Rodney Sundberg; he died June 3.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Sweetnam; son, James A. Neel;
four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
