GIDDENS, HELEN LAKE --- Newburgh, N.Y. - Helen Lake Giddens of Newburgh, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, in St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. She was 86. The daughter of the late Clinton E. Sr. and Adelaide Diack Lake, she was born Jan. 15, 1913, in New York City. She was the widow of Ralph Giddens. Mrs. Giddens was a retired Federal Government employee, having worked in the transportation section of both Stewart AFB, Newburgh and USMA, West Point. She was a Trustee of Historic Newburgh; member of St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary; Newburgh Civic Theatre; Community Garden Club of Marlboro; AARP; Retired Federal Employees; Alpha Chi Omega National Sorority, University of Alabama Chapter; past member of the YWCA, New Windsor and Powelton Club of Balmville. Survivors include one son, Ralph E. Giddens and his wife, Sarann of Newburgh; one nephew and two nieces of Lexington, Ky.; and two cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Clinton E. Lake Jr. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home, 318 N. Montgomery St., Newburgh. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home. Monsignor John Budwick will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
