Hawk Eye; Burlington IA; 2001-1-4 Thursday, 1/4/2001 Henry Dockendorff Henry Ford Dockendorff, 86, of Danville, died at 9:46 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born July 11, 1914, in Danville, he was the son of Edward Leroy and Flossie Lake Dockendorff. He married Dorothy May Harwood on Dec. 25, 1937, near Hedrick. Mr. Dockendorff was a 1934 graduate of Danville High School. He was a farmer in rural Danville for many years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Danville Congregational United Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon, and Danville Masonic Lodge 48 AF & AM. He served as a board member at Danville State Savings Bank for 29 years and as a board member at Danville Mutual Telephone for nine years. He was a member of the Soil Conservation Committee and served on the Des Moines County Cattleman's Association board for nine years. Survivors include his wife; one son, Robert D. Dockendorff of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Linda C. Johnson of Los Altos, Calif.; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, A. Virginia Johnston of Birmingham; one brother, Alvin Q. "Jim" Dockendorff of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Burial will be in Jaggar Cemetery, Danville. A memorial has been established for his church.
