Saint John Times Globe Saint John NB Canada Friday, April 6, 2001 LAKE, HERBERT LAWTON The death of Mr. Herbert Lawton Lake, husband of the late Margaret Anne (Patterson) Lake, of 1100 Manawagonish Road, Hillcrest Village, Saint John, NB, occurred on Thursday, April 5, 2001, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Justus Gray and Charlotte (Seely) Lake. Throughout his life, Herbert had worked as a painter and had been employed with Pullen Painting and A. J. Maillet and Sons Painting, from where he had retired. Herbert was very fond of gardening, reading and enjoyed wood carving. He is survived by one son, David (Helen) Lake of West Saint John, one daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Albert Hutchings) of Morna, NB, seven grandchildren, Michael A. Dearman, Susan J. Schreiber, Mark Dearman, Mary Ellen Hudson, Karen A. Bower, Richard G. Lake and Heather J. Lake., great-grandchildren, Wesley, Melanie, Sinead, Paul, Jesse and Evan. He was predeceased by his loving wife, his parents, and four brothers, Byron Seely Lake, Donald Roy Lake, Horace Brittain Lake and Justus Ralph Lake. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7425, with visitation on Friday from 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at 10 AM from Bay View Chapel. Interment will be at Fernhill Cemetery.
