Corby, age 96, formerly of Evans Falls passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock. Her parents were the late Ellis and Mary Alice Winters Robbins. She was the wife of the late Floyd B. Corby Sr. She was a quiet and loving person who enjoyed gardening and flowers and listening to country music. She was also a wonderful cook and delighted in cooking for family and friends. She will be missed by her children, William Corby and wife Shirley, Walter Corby and wife Sophia, and Charles Corby and wife Carol, all of Tunkhannock; Harriet Burkholder and husband Ronald of Leola, and Alice B. Singer and husband Warren of Rome. Also surviving her is daughter-in-law Marilyn Corby of Oakland, Md., wife of her son Archie, who predeceased her. She is survived by stepchildren Ruth Greenley and Fern Kromelbein, of Tunkhannock, and Malcomb Corby, of Meshoppen. Stepchildren Oscar Corby, Evelyn Galloway, and Floyd Corby Jr. predeceased her. Also surviving her are 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Sisters surviving are Frances Boyer and Bertha Scott, both of Pittston, and Florence Hunt of Binghamton, N.Y. Predeceasing her were sisters Anna Krause, Ida Scott, Millie Evans, and brothers Wilbur, Carl, Clyde, Charles and Russell Robbins. Services were held Tuesday, June 30, 2009, from Sheldon Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 West Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Pastor Karen Ballard officiating. Interment, Eaton Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
