Hebron resident Irene (Folk) Lake, 89, died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, in Hebron.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home chapel in Hebron with Bert
Santee officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hebron.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and two hours prior
to services Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lake was born Dec. 28, 1908, to Theodore and Anna (Ruczek) Folk in
Cherry County. She was a retired nurse. She worked at a hospital in Mullen,
St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln and Thayer County Hospital and Blue Valley
Lutheran Homes, both in Hebron. She also was a former rural school teacher
in Hooker County.

She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fairbury.

Survivors are her husband, Eugene; four sons, Kenneth of Denver, Stanley of
Bloomfield, Martin of Hebron and Gene of Del Mar, Calif.; one daughter,
Myrna Lemon of Berrien Springs, Mich.; one brother, Leonard Folk of Sumter,
S.C.; one sister, Ethel (Folk) Patterson of Palo Cedro, Calif.; 16
grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Memorials have been established.
