    Columbia -- Funeral service for Mrs. Iris "Jeri" Ellis, 69, of
Columbia, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, September 8, 2003,
at Dentsville Baptist Church, conducted by the Reverend Jeffrey Scott.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive
friends from 7-9 this evening at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel.
    Mrs. Ellis, wife of Perry C. Ellis, died Thursday, September 4, 2003.
Born in Knox County, TN, she was the daughter of the late A.G. and Amanda
Cardwell Lakin.  She was a member of Dentsville Baptist Church and had
retired as a payroll clerk for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
    Surviving are her husband, Perry C. Ellis; daughters and sons-in-law,
Candice and Mike Bender, Celeste and Tony McDuffie, all of Columbia,
and Melonie and Mike Messer of Cayce; five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.

ELLIS, IRIS "JERI" - age 69, Funeral service for Mrs. Iris "Jeri" Ellis,

and sons-in-law, Candice and Mike Bender, Celeste and Tony McDuffie, all
of Columbia, and Melonie and Mike Messer of Cayce; 5 grandchildren and 3
