The Star, Ventura County, CA; Thursday, February 23, 2012 & February 24, 2012 Isabel I. Lake Isabel was surrounded daily by her family, and special caretaker granddaughter Elizabeth Lake. She was a pioneer in strong women. In the early 1930's she left the family farm to live with her grandparents and work in the city of Kankakee, Illinois. She worked at the Bear Brand Hosiery Factory during the depression era attending Kankakee Modern Academy of Beauty Culture receiving her degree of Master of Beauty Culture on December 27, 1938. World War II brought changes, her civilian factory would become a munitions' factory. She moved to San Diego during the war and worked at Ryan Aeronautical Company. In 1947, she met and soon married her Navy husband, William Lawrence Lake. Isabel loved San Diego but soon found her way to Moorpark, living there for 50 years. Moorpark brought many beloved friends who made her world wonderful. She was a devoted member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the "Unofficial Retirement Club" of K-Mart, Simi Valley. She is survived by her two children and their families: son Gregg (Paula), granddaughters Elizabeth and Valerie Lake. Daughter Patricia (Ron) Fausset, grandsons Brandon (Makalah) and Justin (Kristina) and great-grandchildren Cameron, Kaylin, Coleman, and Silas Fausset.
