Born October 2, 1916 in Leamington to Barneybus and Selma Velet Johnson Lake. Married Marie Lovell April 10, 1937 in Nephi. Later solemnized in Manti Temple. Educated in Leamington, Lynndyl, Delta High School. Worked CCC 1933, drove school bus Leamington to Delta, at McIntyre Ranch, service station doing repair work, milked cows, delivered milk to creamery, Ashby's Inc., operated 80 acre farm in South Tract. Operated Lake Philgas June 1962 till 1997. High Priest in LDS Church serving as Stake and Ward Sunday School presidency, as Bishopric member, as Scoutmaster. Received "Silver Beaver". Member Kiwanis and Lions Clubs. Unselfishly cared for Marie for over 24 years of illness. Proud of family and helped them reach their goals. Loved and remembered for hard working hands and compassionate and tender heart. Survived by wife: Marie, Delta; sons and daughters: Kenneth (Sally) Lake, Leamington; Susan (Ron) Petersen, Garth (Leslie) Lake, both Delta; Jeanette (Dallas) Anderson, Laurel (Layne) Eliason, both Deseret; son-in-law: Scott Anderson, Delta; 31 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Leo (Rita) Lake and Ned (Colleen) Lake, both Delta; Neil (Ada) Lake, Grantsville; Sephronia (Al) Broderick, Delta; JoAnn Stipanovich, Deseret. Preceded in death by daughter: Barbara Marie Anderson; brothers: Ronald, Dareld; sisters: Clara, Leona. Funeral services Saturday April 28, 2001, 11 a.m. Delta Sixth Ward. Friends call at Nickle Mortuary, 190 South Center, Delta, Friday, 7-8 p.m. and at church on Saturday 9:30-10:40 a.m. Burial, Delta Cemetery.
