James E. Lake, The death occurred Thurs. Aug 8, 1968 at the Toronto General Hospital of James Edward Lake of Lot 4Con 4 of Mariposa Twp. The deceased was in his 60th year. The son of the late Marshall and May Lake, the deceased was born in the village of Oakwood and received his education there and at the Continuation School in Little Britain. He was a member of the Salem and Oakwood United Churches. Always interested in the life of the church, he served as a member of the Board of Stewards and as a delegate to the Presbytery and Conference.;also a member of Little Britain Lodge No. 316, I.O.O.F of which he was a Past Grand and Past District Deputy. Surviving are his wife the former Pearl M. Barry; two sons John M. and Franklin J. of Oakwood; two grandchildren, Brenda and Ralph. Also survivng are two brothers Jarvis of Peterborough, ;and Donald of Ottawa, three sisters, Marjorie of Oakwood, Jean (Mrs. Jack Workman) Agincourt, Clara,(Mrs. Sydney Lathangue) of Belleville and Helen predeceased. The funeral was held on Sat. Aug 10 at 3 pm at the Pinkham Funeral Chapel, Sunderland. Rev P.C.Brown of Oakwood United Church, conducted the service. Interment was at Zion, Mariposa Cemetery. the pallbearers were Peter Brown, Cecil Barry, Lloyd Weldon, Norman Swain, Jack Johnston and Gordon Tremeer.
