Lake, age 83, formerly of Canton, but most recently of Coalgate, OK, was received into Heaven on September 4, 2006. He was born December 2, 1922, in Fort Worth, TX to the late Loyd and Lorraine Lake. He was a former member of the Canton Baptist Temple and was retired from the Plain Local School District. He served in the Army Signal Corps in the European Theater during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Marion Lake and also by his wife, Helen (Smith) Lake as well as four sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Lake of Coalgate; daughter, Carolyn Sue (Lake) Hawkins of Amarillo, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy (Lake) and James Halpny of Arizona; sons and daughters-in- law, Rev. James and Cathy Lake of Barre, VT and Paul and Kristy Lake of Hanoverton, OH; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Laurie Thomas, and Ronnie and Laura Thomas, all of Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Francis (Hawkins) Pierson, Nathan Hawkins, Charlsie (Hawkins) Webb, Anne Marie (Halpny) Howard, Belinda (Halpny) Ivey, James Halpny, Jr., Rebekah Lake, Leigh Ann (Lake) Rose, Elisabeth (Lake) Frost, and Jay Paul Lake; step-granddaughter, Rebecca Thomas; brother, Lonnie Lake of Oklahoma; sisters, Thelma (Lake) Hilton and Dorothy (Lake) Burns, both of Florida; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2006 at Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton with the Rev. James Lake and the Rev. Mike Frazier officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour (9:30-10:30 a.m.) prior to service time at the funeral home.
