Register-Pajaronian; Watsonville CA; 2005-3-11 James Lake James Lake, 75, a lifelong resident of Watsonville, passed away March 9, 2005. Jim served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. He worked briefly for the Watsonville Police Department before joining the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office. After a 30-year career in law enforcement, he retired as an Inspector from the District Attorney's office. Jim was a Charter Member of the Freedom Lions Club, Pajaro Valley Rod & Gun Club, Knights of Columbus, SIRS, Life member of the NRA, RPEA, and a member of the Valley Catholic Church. Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jo Marie Lake, sons James D. Lake and Edward P. Lake and daughter-in-law, Sherry Lake. He also leaves granddaughters Amy and Stephanie Lake; sister Barbara Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M., at Mehl's Colonial Chapel. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 10 A.M., at Our Lady Help of Christians (Valley Catholic Church). Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.
