James Lake, 64, Towner, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, in a Rugby hospital.

He was born April 19, 1947, to Willis and Marie Lake, in Rugby. He was
drafted into the Army in October 1966 and served for one year in Vietnam
and received wounds in combat in July 1967. He married Allison Gardner
Sept. 15, 1971, in Knox.

Survivors: wife; stepdaughters, Tracy Elke, Minot, Shannon Lake, Grand
Forks; stepson, Keith of Omaha; six grandchildren; brothers, Ray of
Denver, Ronald, Rugby; sister, Carole Boner, Grand Forks.

Funeral: Wednesday, 10 a.m., in Anderson Funeral Home, Towner.

Burial: Wednesday, 3 p.m., North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Visitation: Today, 5 to 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
