Born September 9, 1918, in Shelly, Idaho, to Eva Woolston and James M. Lake. He attended Provo City schools. Married Betty Mildenhall of Provo, Utah, on September 22, 1939, in Waterbury, Connecticut. James was affiliated with Conoco for many years in the Salt Lake and Ogden areas. Member of Ogden American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army. Member of the LDS Church. Survived by wife, Betty, Salt Lake City, Utah; son, Randolph M. Lake, Long Beach, California; daughter, Mary Lou Lake Binns and son-in-law, Lee Binns, Salt lake City; sister, Beulah Lake Heath, Delta, Utah; brother, Dale Lake; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Robert James Lake. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 1999, 11:30 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
