ROBBINS - James R. "JR" Robbins, 76, Altoona, died Wednesday at Valley
View Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Coupon, son of the
late William T. and Margaret H. (Squashic) Robbins. Surviving are three
children: Carol Ball (Dan) of Roaring Spring, Vicki Hoffmaster (Jim)
of Flinton and James M. of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; five siblings: Joseph (Shirley Royer) of Clarksville,
Ga., Margaret Clawson (special friend James O'Sail) of Murfreesboro, Tenn.,
Joan Taylor (William) of Altoona, Francis (Shirley Graziano) of North
Plainfield, N.J., and Lawrence (Lori Campbell) of Coupon; a sister-in-law,
Jean (D'Imperio) Robbins of Myerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Stoner; an infant brother, John;
an infant sister, Mary; and a brother, William. Friends will be received
from 10:30 until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service Saturday, April 19, 2014,
at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, the Rev. Joseph Fleming officiating.
Committal will be in Union Cemetery, Coupon.
