Star-Courier; Kewanee IL; 2004-1-3 ORLANDO, Fla. - Jaris K. Lake, 69, of Orlando and formerly of Kewanee, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at the Sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church in Orlando. Memorials may be made to the After School outreach at the church, the Palliative Care Unit at ORMC or the American Cancer Society. Dove Funeral Home, Orlando, is in charge of arrangements. He was born in Kewanee. Surviving are his wife, Penny; daughters Amy Kingham and Mrs. Alan (Elizabeth) Hudson of Orlando and Mrs. Allen (Laura) Catterton of Miami; a sister, Kathryn Lake of Marshalltown, Iowa; a brother, Dr. Bruce Lake of Richmond, Va.; and grandchildren Bryn Hudson and Rebecca Catterton. He was preceded in death by a brother, C. Trent Lake. He was a graduate of Lake Forest college with a degree in art history. He worked for Leo Burnett Advertising in Chicago, and moved to Orlando in 1959. He joined Tupperware in 1967 and retired in 1991 as vice president of sales promotion. He then founded Jerry Lake Communications, which produced sales meetings, videos and other business presentations. He was an Army veteran. He was a former president of the Orlando Civic Theater and a member of the Action Orlando Committee. He was also a volunteer with Untied Way, Michelee Puppets, Alzheimer's Respite Care and the March of Dimes. He was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church.
