The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 55, Number 85 Halifax, NS, Canada Thursday, April 10, 2003 BROWN, Jean Eileen - 77, Wolfville, Kings Co., passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at home. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Vera (Dakin) Lake. She was a graduate of Wolfville High School, Kings County Academy, Kentville, the Provincial Normal College, Truro and Acadia University, Wolfville. She taught school for over 30 years, mainly in the Valley area, the last 14 years at Horton High School, Greenwich, Kings Co. She will be remembered for always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she could. She is survived by son, Roy "Butch" Jessop (Donna), Greenwood, Pictou Co.; daughter, Ruth (Mrs. Garnet Selby), Avonport, Kings Co.; sister, Gladys (Mrs. Lawrence Pokrant), Winnipeg, Man.; brothers, Fred "Kerley" (Ruby) Lake, Forest Hill, Kings Co.; Hollis (Margaret) Lake, Wolfville Ridge, Kings Co.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John; brother, Harold. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in W.C. Hiltz/White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 11, Rev. Lewis How officiating. Burial will take place in Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, Kings Co. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
