Born in Murray Corner, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Effie (Scott) Field. Jean was a member of the Murray Corner First United Church, and past member of the Port Elgin Senior Citizen's Club. She was a well known storekeeper at Lake's General Store for 35 years in Murray Corner. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years, John Lake, Murray Corner; sons, Wallace (Meredith) and Winston (Margaret), both of Murray Corner; Stanley (Karen), Halifax; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Hazel, Hannah and Myrtle; brother, Fred. Jean Lake's funeral and burial arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, N.B., from where visitation will be held today, December 30, from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 31 in First United Church, Murray Corner.
