Jean M. Lake obituary - Sunday, March 23, 2003, The Manhattan Mercury, Manhattan, Kansas Jean Marie Lake, 56, of Manhattan, died March 21, 2003 at the Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. She was born July 6, 1946 in Manhattan, the daughter of Roy R. and Gladys (Graves) Sedam. She was a lifetime resident and graduate of Manhattan High School. On April 9, 1967 she was married to Jim W. Lake in Manhattan. He survives of the home. Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Rex's Tire Company and later for Wal-Mart as a photo lab technician. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Charles Lake and his wife Linda of Manhattan, and her twins, Jimmy Lake of Phoenix, Ariz. and Joan Lake of Riley; her mother, Gladys Sedam of Manhattan; one sister, Sharon Fritzson of Randolph; one brother, Don Sedam, of Manhattan; and one gradson, Christopher Lake of Manhattan. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy R. Sedam; one brother, Fred R. Sedam; and one infant sister, Marjorie Ann Sedam. A visitation will be held from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Riley Cemetery in Riley. Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society and the First United Methodist Church. Services will e at 2pm Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Manhattan. Burial will be in the Riley Cemetery in Riley.
