Jennie Lake Allen

Jennie P. Lake Allen, 78, 2420 L St., died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bedford 
Regional Medical Center.

Born in Owensburg, she was the daughter of Joseph and Martha Turpin. She 
married Oren Lake and he died in 1973. She married Warren Allen on Nov. 17, 
1999, and he survives.

She was a homemaker and member of Shiloh Temple in Bloomington.

Surviving with her husband of Bedford are seven daughters: Darlin S. May of 
Harrodsburg, Brenda K. Lake and Janet E. Sears, both of Bedford, Martha A. 
May, Debra Walls and Tamara F. Brock, all of Springville, and Cheryl 
Richardson of Bloomington; four sons: Forest C., Charles "Eddie", Stephen O. 
and Joseph H. Lake, all of Bedford; one brother, Elmer Turpin of Bloomington; 
37 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and six 
grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Shiloh Temple, Bloomington, with the 
Rev. Russell Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Fayetteville Church of 
Christ Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford, 
and 12 noon until service time Friday at Shiloh Temple, Bloomington.
