Treasure Coast Palm; Stuart FL; 2007-10-28 Jocelyn Craig Lake Thrush, formerly of Westport, CT and Dorset, VT, who was born in Connecticut on January 5, 1930, died in Vero Beach, Florida, on October 25, 2007, surrounded by her children. Jocelyn was the daughter of Lauriston Craig Lake, first Vice-President of Bankers Trust Corp. and Elizabeth Childs Lake. She was a graduate of the Kathleen Laycock School, now Greens Farms Academy, of Westport, Connecticut. She was an illustrator's model and was featured in many illustrations by Austin Briggs, Al Parker, Ward Brackett, and Steven Dohanos, which included a cover for Ladies Home Journal, as well as calendars, posters and advertisements for Coca Cola and Skyr Sportswear. She was married to Donald Bell Thrush in 1952, her husband of 50 years. She was an avid golfer and contract bridge player, as a member of the Woodway Country Club in Darien, CT, Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, VT and the Vero Beach Country Club in Florida. Jocelyn was an active volunteer for the Indian River Medical Center Auxiliary and served on the Altar Guild at Trinity Episcopal Church, Vero Beach. A faithful Christian, she was a loving support for her many friends. She is survived by her children, Lauriston Thrush and G. Randall Avery of Rowayton, CT, William Lake and Kelly Long Thrush of Westport, CT and Dana Thrush and Sherman Foote of New York, NY; and grandchildren, Christian, Jocelyn and Kathryn Avery, Griffin and Riley Thrush and Dustin and Lucy Foote. A memorial service and interment will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, of Vero Beach, on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at 3 PM.
