John H. Lake, 89, Port Charlotte, died Nov. 9, 2003.

He was born Dec. 13, 1913, in Pittsford, Vt., and lived in Sunderland,
Vt., from 1934 to 1988. He was employed by Hale Furniture Factory in
East Arlington, Vt. In 1950, he started his own Pine Furniture Shop
in Sunderland.

Survivors include his wife, Alice M.; daughters Linda Irwin of Port
Charlotte and Mildred Rogers of Castleton, Vt.; four grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kays-Ponger/ Royal Palm
Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel.
