Benny Walker officiating. Burial will be in Tecula Cemetery. Mrs. Lake died Jan. 12, in Jacksonville. She was born March 29, 1918, in Tecula to the late Lawrence 'Dock' and Cora Stockton Ross. She was owner/operator of Lake's Grocery in Berryville from 1972 until retiring in the early 1980's. She was active in formation of city of Berryville and served on City Council and was mayor, 1979-1981. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Lake, and son, Mackie Lake. Survivors include daughter, Glenda Sue Kindle, Troup; brother, Larry Lee Ross, Longview; sister, Valerie Ross; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. Pallbearers are David Lake, DeWald Lake, Joe Traylor, Kennith Ross, Darrel Moore and Frank Morton. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Tri County Leader, Whitehouse, TX.
