The Chronicle Herald Thursday, October 15, 2009 Halifax NS Canada Volume 61 Number 245 LAKE-CROSSLEY, Joshua Gregory, 12, Lakelands. After 12 courageous years battling with heart disease, we said goodbye to an angel on Saturday, October 11, 2009. Born on June 25, 1997, Joshua Gregory Lake-Crossley was a 12 year old miracle who blessed our lives. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his parents, Greg Crossley and Shona Lake, and his sister, Jessica Lake-Crossley as well as his grandparents, stepparents, stepsiblings, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. The 12 years of Joshua's life were filled with the love of his friends and family, the joy of his pets, and the thrill of saving that goal or hitting that home run. He loved his time with his friends playing Ruinscape, playing Xbox, and above all riding his motorbike. Josh had an amazing sense of humour and he loved to laugh and make others laugh. He had many accomplishments in his 12 years. Most recently as Captain of his Squirt fastball team, the Uniacke Mustangs, Josh was awarded both an MVP and Most Sportsmanlike award at Provincials in August. In September he was named team MVP for the season and Overall MVP for the Junior League for the Uniacke District Softball Association. In 2008 when his Atom AA hockey team won provincials Josh was named the 1st string goalie to the provincial all star team. But his most important accomplishment was the way he touched the lives of those who loved him. He made us laugh, he made us cry. He tested our patience, and he taught us forgiveness. He filled our hearts and nourished our souls. And he did this with a smile, with a wink and just by being the beautiful person that he was. Please join usin celebrating the life of Joshua. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lohnes - DeMont Funeral Service Ltd., 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Friday, October 16. A service celebrating his life will held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 17 in Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor, Rev. Alex Mosher and Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Interment will be in Bramber Cemetery, Bramber. We ask that we celebrate the things Joshua loved by wearing a jersey, sports logo or really bright colours.
