Joyce Lakey Ayers, 78, Clarksville, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at her
residence.  Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sykes Funeral Home
and Crematory.  She was born July 25, 1925, in Warwick, R.I., daughter of
Forrest E. and Marie Wildprett Lakey.  Mrs. Ayers was a retired mental
health worker.  Survivors include a son, Jim Ayers Jr., Clarksville;
a daughter, Lynne Freeman, Brentwood; two sisters, Maurie Corey,
Providence, R.I., and Barbara Schuette, Savannah, Ga.; four children;
and four great-grandchildren.  Memorial contributions may be made to
Hospice of Gateway Home Care, 1760 Madison St., Clarksville, TN 37043.
