The Chronicle-Herald/Mail Star; Halifax NS Canada; 2008-12-27 CARD (Lake), Joyce Elaine - 63, East Walton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at home. Born in Pembroke on December 23, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Blois and Catherine (Laffin) Lake. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Wallace "Wally"; sons, Leslie and Stacey, both of East Walton and Sharroll (Jason), Noel; brothers, Norman (Sherry), Bramber; Murray, East Walton; sister, Linda (Tim) Lake, East Walton; stepfather, Grant Lake, East Walton; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Reed and brother, Herman. Joyce was a life member and past president of East Walton Community Hall. She attended many benefits to help others in need. Joyce devoted her life to being a stay at home mom and housewife, which she enjoyed dearly. She was an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother, was an excellent listener and always had a smile on her face, even through times of pain. She loved unconditionally with her heart and we are honoured to have been loved by her. Joyce lived life to the fullest enjoying jams, bingo, auctions, the Barnyard Beauties and putting floats in the field days with Myra and Margie. Joyce wanted it to be known that she was glad to have met so many people while staying at the Lodge in Halifax. Some special people include; Carlotta, Charmaine, Loretta and David as well a special thanks to Carmen for all her help and kindness. Cremation has taken place with visitation Sunday 7-9 p.m., December 28, and a memorial service Monday, December 29, at 2 p.m., both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home Hwy. 215, Summerville, Rev.
