The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Friday, April 11, at St. Canice Catholic Church in Nevada City. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 12, at St. Canice Catholic Church. Fr. Bob O'Neil and Fr. Sylvester Kwiatkowski will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Grass Valley. Mrs. Lake was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Spokane, Wash., to George S. Young and Elsa Ames Young. She graduated from Anna Mead High School in Oakland in 1942 and from U.C. Berkeley in 1946. She married Thomas L. Lake, M.D., on Nov. 5, 1949 in Oakland. Mrs. Lake was a homemaker. She was PTA president, on the Women's Auxiliary Board, a public school volunteer in various capacities in Oakland, a Red Cross volunteer and a Girl Scout leader in Oakland. She was a docent for the Oakland Museum. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Lake is survived by her son, Roger O. Lake of Twain Marte; daughter, Robin L. Lake of Seattle, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Byron Lake and Neva Monigatti-Lake of Grass Valley; brother, Fletcher Young of Lafayette and grandchildren Neva Silbaugh, Jessie Waiamau-Ariota and Lisa Northcutt, all of Seattle, Wash., and Michaela Lake, Camille Lake, Sophie Lake, Kellen Lake and Isabella Lake, all of Grass Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Lake, M.D. Memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus, St. Patrick's Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
