Chron-Herald; Halifax ON Canada; 2012-8-13 LAKE, Karen Ann - 67, Truro, passed away August 10, 2012, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Stanley, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Percy and Annie (Flynn) Scott. Karen co-founded Will-Kare Paving & Contracting Limited. She was quite the practical joker and enjoyed cooking, photography, playing cards and her pets. Karen was also a member of the Truro Gyrettes. She is survived by her former husband, Bill Lake, Bible Hill; daughter, Kim (Darren) Weir and their children, Lauren and Kristen, Bible Hill; son, Andrew (Tricia) and their children, Patrick and Regan, Valley; sister, Helen (Ron) Brownridge, Oromocto, N.B.; nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by daughter, Kelly in infancy. Visitation will be held today, Monday, August 13 from 6-9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with funeral mass onTuesday, August 14 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince St., Truro, Father Francesco Pirisi officiating. Interment in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Robie Street. Family flowers only.
