Elko Daily Free Press; Elko NV; 2003-3-24 Karen "Jean" Lake, age 62, was born in Brainerd, Minn, Oct 3, 1940, where she graduated from Washington High School. Jean moved to Elko, Nev., in 1961. She was employed by Elko County School District for 28 years and retired in 2000. Jean's interests included spending time with her grandchildren and collecting Santa Clauses and cats. She succumbed to cancer on March 21, 2003. Her family and friends will miss her smile and loving personality. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Brett, and his wife, Alison; grandson, Christopher; grand-daughter, Delaney; sisters, Sharon Amerud, Lynda Eckman; and brother, Tod Paulson. A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003.
