Tampa Tribune; Tampa FL; 2010-1-7 LAKE, Katharine Ann Kerr, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at home in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was born April 14, 1925, in Lima, Ohio, to Charlotte Sieber Kerr and Robert Kenneth Kerr. In 1935 the family moved to Lancaster, Ohio, and her father served as publisher of the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette. She graduated from Columbus School for Girls in Columbus, Ohio. Upon completion of Washington School of Secretaries, Washington, D.C., she became secretary to Governor Frank J. Lausche of Ohio. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, R. Kenneth Kerr; and husband, John Byron "Jack" Lake, former publisher of the St. Petersburg Times, who died in 2000. She is survived by her three daughters, Charlotte Lake (Thomas) McGahan of Leawood, Kan., Cynthia Ann Lake and Diane Lake (John) Weatherell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and five devoted grandchildren, John Frederick, Courtney Ann and Katharine Lake Katzenberger, Houston Sieber McGahan and Ian Lake Weatherell; and her brother, John E. M. Kerr of Athens, Ohio. The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Northeast Presbyterian Church, 4400 Shore Acres Blvd., St Petersburg. She will be interred at Maple Grove Cemetary, Lancaster, Ohio, in the spring. The family would like to thank Griswold Care and the Suncoast Hospice for their beautiful care.
