The State, Columbia, SC, Aug. 16, 2004 KAY POLSON Hopkins -- Services for Martha Kay Polson, 56, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Reverend Ryan Pack will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, 9487 Garners Ferry Road, Hopkins, SC 29061. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Kay died Saturday, August 14, 2004, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of Martha Layton Lake and the late Haskell F. Rogers. A 1966 graduate of Lower Richland High School, she was a member of Faith Sunday School Class of Beulah Baptist Church and the Red Hat Club. She retired in 2000 after 28 years from Square D Company where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, David H. Polson; her daughter and son-in-law, Candace and Mike Watkins, and son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Misty Polson, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sarah Watkins and Mackenzie and David Polson; her sisters and brothers-in-law, JoAnn Krenkel, Patricia Motley, Carol and Joe Skvasik and Donna and Bill Hardy; and countless nieces, nephews and dear friends. "Kay's incredible courage, determined optimism and positive attitude have been and will continue to be an inspiration to all who kew her. We'll miss you, Kay Baby." The family would like to thank Dr. William Butler and his staff, especially Dusty, for their many years of concerned care, as well as the staff of the Cancer Center at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.
