4 November 1999; Chronicle Journal, Thunder Bay, ON Canada LAKE Mr. Kayo Adrian Lake, age 79 years, resident of Caroline Street, passed away unepectedly in McKellar Hospital on Tuesday, November 2, 1000. Born in Vaasa, Finland in 1920, he emigrated to Canada and lived in Port Arthur before relocating in Fort William. Kayo graduated from Selkirk Collegiate & Vocational Institute and served overseas from 1942 to 1946. He was also a member of the Ortona Legion. Kayo was predeceased by his mother Hilja Lake, sister Asta Olson and brothers Norman and Peter Lake. He is survived by his wife Connie of 58 years, son Ted (Sheryl) of Marathon, daughter Lynda (Keith) Finnie of London, ON, grandchildren Jennifer Manuel, Ray Lake, Kristine Lake, Amanda and Allison Finnie and two great grandchildren Drew and Georgia Manuel of Marathon. He is also survived by his brother Joe Lake of Nelson B.C., and his sister Eila Foster of Thunder Bay. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Kayo’s life will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church on Friday, November 5, 1999 at 3:00 pm. Rev. Greg McVeigh will officiate. A private family interment will be held at a late date in Mountain View Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the heart & Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society or to St. Luke's Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated.
