TUSCOLA -- Kern Owen "K.O." Lake, 73, of Tuscola died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday
(Aug. 12, 1999) at home.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home,
705 S. Main St., Tuscola.

TUSCOLA -- Memorial services for Kern Owen "K.O." Lake, 73, of Tuscola will
be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home,
705 S. Main St., Tuscola.  The Rev. Kenneth Roedder will officiate.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1925, at Dieterich, a son of Samuel P. and Dolores
Woody Lake.  He married Barbara Toan on Sept. 24, 1955 at
Maywood.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeff Lake of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and
Mark Lake of Hampton, Va.; two daughters, Susan Hays of
Tuscola and Sharon Lake of Palo Alto, Calif.; a brother, Richard Lake of
Tuscola; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Lake was a commercial and residential contractor for 43 years.  He
served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a member of the
Tuscola American Legion Post for more than 50 years.  He also was a member
of the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Memorials may be made to the Douglas County Museum Association, the
Provena Covenant Medical Center Hospice, or Beth's Place.
