Lake of Beacon, a computer programmer for IBM and a lifelong resident, died Wednesday, October 11, 2000, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany. He was 42 years of age. The son of William R. Lake and the late June Ann Chapman Lake, he was born March 26, 1958, in Liberty. Mr. Lake was a graduate of Roscoe Central School, Orange County Community College, Union College and earned his Master's degree at Marist College. A pilot, he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol of Dutchess County. An avid hunter, he also enjoyed flying his plane. He is survived by his father, William R. "Bunk" Lake of Roscoe; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William R. and Pamela Lake Jr. of Smyma (NY) and; Mark R. and Brenda Lake of Roscoe; two sons, Marc and Paul Lake of Hopewell Junction; his fiancee, Tracey Cresswell of Beacon; his paternal grandmother, Annabelle Lake of Roscoe; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and a niece. Services were held Saturday at the United Church of Roscoe with the Rev. Bridgette LeConey officiating. Memorial contribution may be made to the charity of one's choice.
