"Gram" (Lake) Dube Zawalick, 85, of 35 1/2 Ellsworth St., a retired personal care attendant, died Wednesday, June 6, at home after an illness. Her husband, Chester Zawalick, died in 1986. She leaves a son, David A. Dube of Orlando, Fla.; four daughters, Judith A. Murphy of Croyden, Pa., Claudette L. Dominie of Ware, Ethel L. Fleming of Lunenburg and Helen M. Dube of Worcester; a sister, Bertha E. West of Worcester; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Albert Dube, died in 1969. A daughter, Anita L. Dube of Worcester, died in 1967. A sister, Florence A. Vinson of Norwood, died last year. Three brothers also predeceased her. Born in Providence, daughter of Helen M. Lake, she lived in Millbury before moving to Worcester 52 years ago. She graduated from Millis High School and from The Salvation Army School of Nursing, Boston. Most recently, Mrs. Zawalick was a personal care attendant for various private families, retiring because of illness last year. Many years ago, she was a licensed practical nurse and later was a hat dresser at Paul Hat Co. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, and was the organizer of The Polka Dots and Polka Dot Dance Group. The funeral will be held Saturday, June 9, from Henry Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 8, in the funeral home.
